Yhteiskuntaorientaatio.fi renewed!

The Yhteiskuntaorientaatio.fi website has been updated. The new material has been produced by the Finnish Refugee Council and the Finnish National Agency for Education. The KEHA Centre is responsible for the site’s maintenance and further development. At first, the material is available in Finnish – English and Swedish versions will be published in 2025.

Learning material now in an accessible web format

The learning material, previously available only in PDF format, is now provided in a clear and accessible web format. This supports teaching situations better and is easy to use also on mobile devices. The new website offers users a logically structured, visually illustrative, and pedagogically functional learning experience.

Supporting multilingual orientation to Finnish society

The site contains multilingual learning material designed to support newcomers’ understanding of Finnish society. The content is based on the themes defined in the Integration Act. The material is primarily intended for trainers, but learners can also use it independently.

Developed through broad cooperation

The learning material was developed between 2023 and 2025 by the Finnish Refugee Council and the Finnish National Agency for Education. Content responsibility rested with Anni Harmaala (Finnish Refugee Council) and Lilli Rasilainen (Finnish National Agency for Education). Illustrations were made by Jutta Kivilompolo. The development work was guided by a wide range of authorities, trainers, experts, and newcomers. The project received funding from the European Union’s Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). The KEHA Centre is responsible for the site’s maintenance and further development.
